Dinner Date.

Last night I had a date with my favorite (little) man.  Todd was due to come back later that evening so I with a little (much appreciated!) nudge from a friend, I decided Jackson and I needed to go and get him a Happy Meal. And I used my iPhone to document.  He was the best. We should do this more often! Who doesn't love a good cheeseburger or chicken nuggets? :)

Another perk of the evening was when we pulled up to the house, Todd was pulling his car into the garage right before we did the same.  Good timing!  We were both so glad to have him home!

from where i sit: jackson's room

Todd left for Chicago for a work trip Monday night.  So until Wednesday evening, Jackson and Ally and I are hanging out.  Tuesday evening after finishing a delicious dinner, we played upstairs in Jackson's room.  Easily my favorite room in the house.  And this was my view.

So here we were...just enjoying this play time together.  Gosh. He's at a pretty fun age.  Can we bottle it up? :)

And something I just noticed.  Just 8 months ago. Jackson's hand (the same one you can see holding the cup in that photo...) looked like this:

It is literally amazing how well it has healed.  And to think I was so worried. It was 8 months ago.  Time. Has. Flown.

why I love the weekends.

I completely understand that the amount of photos in this post is excessive (to put it nicely). But. I don't care.  We had the best day on Sunday.  We took a walk to our favorite donut shop and checked out the sites and fall scenery along the way.  We were gone for a couple of hours but the time went by so fast.  That might explain the large amount of photos. It really was such a beautiful fall day.  Lots of sunshine and blue skies.  Does anyone else get really sad on Sunday evenings?  I hate it when the weekends spent with my little family are over.

Oh well. Only a few more days until we have another weekend!

Gosh. I love these photos. So many colors.  Such a happy kid. It doesn't get much better than that! Enjoy!
