January 5, 2014. Snowpocalypse...and we had a blast!
The snow was falling, sometimes at the rate of an inch an hour. Before the Polar Vortex made it our way, we headed outside for some fun in the snow. Jackson had just as much fun eating the snow as he did sliding in it or throwing it. That kid loves to eat the snow. That's actually what he spent most of his doing. Whatever makes you happy my little man!
There was so much snow and such frigid temps outside that IUPUI (where I work) even closed for 2 days. Monday and Tuesday were spent at home, totally snowed in with my boys. We were happy to stay put, seeing as though on Monday, the temperature was down to -41 degrees with the windchill. Poor Bella didn't even want to go out!
We stayed nice and warm until dinnertime on Monday evening...when our power went out. So we finished eating our dinner (that luckily had just finished on the stove) and packed up and went to my mother-in-law's for the evening. We hung out with her and my sister-in-law and fiance (that also lost power) and made our way to bed. The next morning after breakfast and a little playtime, we made our journey home and ta-da! We had power...and heat!
All-in-all I'd say we were truly able to enjoy all of our time being snowed it. Luckily we were able to stay safe and warm the entire time. I wouldn't mind being snowed in with these two awesome boys more often!
Please, enjoy these pictures taken from our day playing in the snow!
Looks like you guys had a blast! Yay for the cute snowman!
