considering our anniversary was april 12th... it is probably about time for me to actually publish this post. oops. i just like to keep the celebration going? or something like that! ;)
since our anniversary fell on a saturday this year, we started celebrating friday evening. the weather was beautiful and we took full advantage of it!
(p.s. if you aren't a fan of photos, or photos of my food... you may want to move on. if you have been around a little bit, you'll know that i am photo happy and document every.thing. so if you are still following knowing all of that...bless you! and i hope you'll stick around!!)
friday evening started with a little bit of golfing for my boys. and you'd be surprised by the amount of injuries jackson has gotten from "playing golf"... everything turns into an extreme sport around our house! as you can see from the band-aid on his elbow...
next up... sidewalk chalk. does this ever get old?
"i want to go play..."
oh. you've got a cheese puff? sold!
after dinner we walked to the donut shop. you know, one of our favorite local places! because having cheeseburgers and cheese puffs weren't enough calories for one day...
on our way home, we stopped at "the construction site!" to play in the dirt. it truly is the little things in life that count... this made his day. which then made mine.
finally. saturday. our actual anniversary! we grilled out (again! yay!) and just spent time together as a family.
and then i surprised the boys with one of my traditional 6 year wedding gifts... sugar! some of the most rich and delicious cupcakes. we each had one and had to finish them in two or three sittings... they are so sweet... and so.good. thank you gigi's!
and for the second little gift... a bottle opener for the kitchen... because the traditional gifts for 6 years are sugar and iron. what a combination! i love it... you can find this and other super cute things at this etsy shop.
surprisingly i don't have any other photos from our actual anniversary (lame and strange... especially for me!) but the boys and i had a pretty laid back day and spent it having fun as a family. we had dinner together and played some more. kind of a perfect day if you ask me. nothing planned, just hanging out and relaxing with my boys.
its hard to believe that six years of marriage have already happened. i never imagined how quickly the time would fly and all of the happiness that this life would give me. i only hoped it would. i am soaking up these moments and making them all the best that i possibly can. i am happy to have todd by my side and know that we're in this together. we make a pretty good team and i'm so happy that we get to be each others best friend. i only imagine these next years will continue to improve and bring so much joy. i cannot wait to spend these years together.
thank you, honey, for everything. jackson and i love you so, so much.
happy six years and so many more!
