in pictures: meagan's first marathon and a weeked away in nashville.

(i'm feeling a little behind on my posts. so many drafts in progress... hard to believe this trip happened almost two full weeks ago. hey time?! slow down a little... please and thank you!)

it started with a three-day weekend, the last weekend of april.  it was time to make a road trip to visit family and watch meagan run her first marathon!  (you can read about her marathon experience here.)  so without using too many words (i'll let the many photos -as usual) i'll try and let the photos do most of the talking.  we had a wonderful trip and had so much fun getting to watch meagan accomplish something so major!  and then we celebrated. it was a fabulous weekend all around. re-do?

(if you are ever interested in seeing some of our southern adventures, follow me on instagram or search for #nonnieandpoppyshouse )

jackson's first time on a horse!

and on saturday.... of to be one of the thousands of spectators at the marathon!  this was our spot at mile 10...

and the iced coffee hand off ;)

after mile 10 we walked back to meagan and jason's hotel for a refreshment.

and then it was off to mile 17...and yes... she is still smiling.  #rockstar

i am a big fan of this pretty city.  we need to spend some more time there!

mile 20... we almost missed her.  "perfect timing" could not be more accurate!

and off to the finish line... or at least the almost finish line.  still running. 26 miles and still running. still smiling. again. my friend is a rock star. i want to be like her when i grow up!

and then it was time to celebrate!

meagan and jason went back to their hotel for some rest (well-deserved!) and we went back to "the farm" ;) time to see the family and celebrate my nephew's birthday.  chocolate cake, strawberry frosting, in a "square" pan, half with sprinkles. but that's all. :)  happy birthday landen marley!

also on the agenda? a belated easter egg hunt.  they loved it!

and for the older boys? camping outside with their poppy.  it really is fun having my parents live in such a cool place.  jackson is really going to love it here... you can tell he already does the older he gets.  so many adventures to be had!

while the family set up camp... todd, meagan, jason and i were off to the winery! the weather was so sunny and warm... it was packed. it was perfection. i want to visit every.single.time. we are in town.

we stopped at the grocery store for "dinner" before the winery.  i do not think the food choices could be more random. and? it was perfect.

not pictured: coming back to "the farm" and enjoying smores by the campfire with the boys.  can't every weekend be like that?!

and early sunday morning. it was time to head home. a quick trip but one full of fun and adventure. so glad we made it there.

even though it was busy and we were all extra tired heading home... it was nothing a nap couldn't fix.  and once home, nap we did.  i'm so thankful for the wonderful weekend we had.
